Our valued client, a Global Oil & Gas EPC, is seeking a Senior PE to join their Perth based team for an inital 6-month contract.

Position purpose
  • To lead Project Engineering tasks assigned by the Project Engineering Manager or Project Operations Manager in order to achieve project objectives.
  • To perform Project Engineering tasks based on instructions received from Manager Subsea Project Engineering APACTo provide technical and project leadership at onshore and offshore sites.
  • To ensure development and implementation of safe procedures and processes in accordance with Group guidelines and policies
  • To assist, train and supervise the work performed by assigned engineer(s)

Main challenges
  • Interfacing with numerous internal stakeholders and with the client and subcontractors as required.
  • Tie all package activities together (interface/coordination role), i.e. engineering, procurement, manufacturing, fabrication, installation.
  • Drive successful delivery of the assigned package/scope.
  • Lead small teams of engineers and/or manage subcontractors/suppliers.
Main accountabilities
  • Responsible for planning and executing/ coordinating the scope of work for assigned package/scope.
  • Ensure allocated package/scope is delivered in accordance with project KPIs, HSE, quality, budget, schedule, and contractual requirements.
  • Promote Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and enforces them within areas of responsibilities.
  • Ensure QHSE objectives are met for assigned package/scope.
  • Ensuring the agreed plan is followed and deadlines are met.
  • Identify Risk & Opportunities associated with the package/scope and ensure mitigation plans are in place and monitored.
  • The main focal point of contact internally and with the client for the allocated package/scope, i.e. the primary interface between the project management team, other group manufacturing units, third-party subcontractors/suppliers and the client in the delivery of the scope of work
  • Coordinates all the disciplines involved in assigned package/scope such as engineering, procurement, manufacturing/fabrication, inspection, testing, logistics, etc.
  • Interface with Client, Project controls team, Engineering teams, Manufacturing teams, Subsea Services, Subcontractors/Suppliers and third-party agencies as appropriate to ensure client requirements and all other relevant specifications are correctly accounted for
  • Supervise, review and expedite engineering deliverables progress internally and externally (internal teams, as well as suppliers and sub-contractors)
  • Ensures that engineering and requisitioning as well as procurement, subcontracting, expediting and associated testing, operations, and logistics activities in own area of action are developed according to schedule, person-hours, equipment, and materials budget, as well as contractual specifications.
  • Attend meetings with internal stakeholders, clients, and Subcontractors/ suppliers as necessary to manage the resolution of technical, logistical and other project challenges
  • Lead site/ field engineering support to deliver manufacturing, fabrication, testing and installation activities as required.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining good internal stakeholder and Client/Subcontractor relationships.
  • Comply with corporate standards, client requirements, legislation and industry standards.
  • Deliver high quality, safe, environmentally responsible and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Assist assigned Project Engineering Manager/Principal Engineer define engineering document deliverables for allocated project scope of work.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule for assigned work scope and associated deliverables.
  • Participate in the identification and control of work scope risks and opportunities.
  • Originate and review engineering deliverables as required by the Project review process.
  • Provide training, guidance and mentoring to the assigned Project Engineers
  • Interface with the various Engineering disciplines and Drafting team as well as other projects, project functions and subcontractors to deliver assigned work scope.
  • Manage procurement of permanent and/or temporary materials and equipment
  • Participate in formal and informal reporting to the assigned Operational and Functional line manager on the progress of engineering tasks and key issues.
  • Assist Manager Subsea Project Engineering APAC in the development of the discipline including consolidation efforts.

  • Engineering degree / Diploma or equivalent experience

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a project environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the oil and gas industry with experience in relevant topics which may include design engineering, manufacturing, procurement, fabrication, installation.
  • Demonstrated planning ability and good commercial awareness.
  • Experience in leading a small team or a subcontract package.
  • Contractual experience beneficial
