Senior Safety and Loss Prevention (SLP) Engineer

Job Title: Safety & Loss Prevention (SLP) Lead Engineer
Location: Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Role Overview:
As a Safety & Loss Prevention (SLP) Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening technical expertise within the SLP discipline. You will lead project teams, drive continuous improvement of corporate processes and tools, and provide dedicated support to projects executed from the Rotterdam office. You will work closely with the Discipline Manager, Technical Authority, and Engineering Management to enhance both the quality and efficiency of engineering deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead SLP discipline efforts during project execution, including proposal, FEED, and EPCI phases
  
  
• Prepare discipline-specific execution plans, hour estimates, and resource planning for proposals and ongoing projects
  
  
• Identify, evaluate, and implement lessons learned to improve SLP engineering guidelines and work instructions
  
  
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to support knowledge transfer and the application of best practices
  
  
• Perform quality audits of SLP deliverables within the Rotterdam office and at subcontractor locations
  
  
• Ensure compliance with client Technical Standards and internal corporate processes
  
  

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including conceptual design, FEED, and EPC project work in offshore oil & gas (preferably FPSO projects)
  
  
• At least 4 years of experience in a lead engineer role
  
  
• Proven leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  
  
• Skilled in work planning, prioritization, and delegation
  
  
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and with stakeholders
  
  
• Proactive in proposing and optimizing engineering methodologies and processes
  
  
• In-depth technical knowledge of SLP engineering, including process safety, loss prevention systems and design, human factors, and safety studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA)
  
  
• Experience with SLP engineering tools and software used in hazard analysis and loss prevention design
