NES Fircroft are working alongside Chevron Australia seeking a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to join their Corporate Affairs team.
 
Job Title: Senior Stakeholder Engagement Advisor (Community Engagement)
Location: Perth CBD
Length of contract: 2 years
Working Hours: Condensed working week, 9 hour days, 9 day fortnight, Mon – Fri.
Level of Experience: Senior
 

Key Duties:
 
  • Build and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with Traditional Owner communities across Western Australia;
  • With a focus on traditional owners and community stakeholders, work within the company’s Aboriginal Affairs team to undertake consultation required for the company’s offshore and onshore Environment Plans to secure regulatory approvals for key business activities;
  • Deliver consultation through co-design and co-decision with our Traditional Owners, taking into account cultural commitments whilst meeting regulatory timeframes
  • Seek the guidance of Traditional Owners to help inform Chevron of the values and sensitivities of the environment around our activities.
  • Provide strategic input into the internal development of project plans and identify issues, develop safeguards and implement risk mitigation measures
  • Work across the business with key function such as Legal and HES to develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans for Environment Plan’s
  • Provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders on key cultural sensitivities and values and identify solutions
  • Proactively contribute to stakeholder engagement data collection and record keeping with a focus on ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Organise and facilitate community meetings, workshops and events to gather feedback, address concerns, and co-design solutions that promote business opportunities, employment and well-being for Traditional Owner groups.
  • Co-ordinate the development of information relating to Social Surroundings considered by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) in the environmental impact assessment process for key business activities, and lead consultation.
 



To be successful, you’ll have:
 
  • A proven track record in building and maintaining effective and respectful working relationships with Traditional Owner communities as well as identifying areas for community contribution, skills building recognition and business opportunities.
  • An excellent understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, including the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, to effectively guide, design and deliver meaningful consultation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage complex relationships and resolve conflict.
  • Understanding of state and federal consultation requirements for major projects would be advantageous.
  • Operate in an agile manner to tight deadlines as part of a small team
  • Ability to travel to undertake stakeholder consultation, primarily in the north west of WA.
