Role Overview
To ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Execute technical support, act as specialist and solve problems in own expertise area. Proactively communicate with both the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for Service growth. The role will be based in Aberdeen and will require travel to our offices in UK and customer sites (both onshore and offshore).

Role Overview

The role will be based in Aberdeen and will require travel to our offices in UK and customer sites (both onshore and offshore).
Main Accountabilities
- Understand and update existing hardware and software modules for the development and maintenance of ABB’s Control System products
- Preparation of Design Specifications, Test Procedures, Method Statements and Scopes of Work for modifications and upgrades as required.
- Conduct the assurance, integration and testing of hardware and software modules
- Deliver updates to the existing products and roll out new products through working closely with different stakeholders, including the customer and the end user
- Support Bids and Proposals team in generation of quotations
- Be available on an ‘on call’ basis to advise customers out of hours and, if necessary, make unscheduled site visits
- Advises clients as to maintenance procedures, site planning, operational methods, process measurement and control strategies and schemes
- Promotes sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts, and advises Sales department of possible sales leads
- Compile Site Visit Reports and ensure follow-up actions and recommendations are acknowledged
- Ensure Cyber Security Systems and Procedures are maintained.
- Provision of ad-hoc support and site attendance as requested.

Requirements
Essential
- Correct safety & integrity mindset
- Have a strong application background
- Have working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, Industrial Networks and Cyber Security
- You will have a willingness to learn and ability to innovate
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A self-starter with the ability to work on his or her own initiative, plan well and follow through to project completion
- Be flexible and prepared to travel to customer sites on occasion.
- Practical, hands-on experience
- Offshore certification
- Good knowledge and understanding of ABB 800xA Control Systems
- Cyber Security awareness
- Knowledge of Process control and loop performance
- Functional Safety certification
