We are seeking a Senior Tailings and Dam Engineer to join one of Australia's largest tier 1 mining company. You will oversee the integrity, safety, and governance of the tailings storage facilities and evaporation ponds. 

You will be working in their Adelaide office with ADHOC site work on a 9 day fortnight FIFO roster.

Key Responsibilitie
  • Address Dam Integrity Issues: Respond promptly to any concerns regarding the structural integrity of the dam and support operations with appropriate remedial actions.
  • Critical Control Activities: Take ownership of essential control activities and verifications to ensure the dam's safe operation.
  • Data Interpretation: Analyze and interpret data related to the dam's safe operation to make informed decisions.
  • Statutory Reporting: Ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Interdepartmental Interface: Act as a liaison between operations and other functions such as projects, planning, environment, and risk management.
About You
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or other relevant fields related to water management, such as Hydrology, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience in tailings or water dam management, dam assessment, general water management, or hydrological assessment.
  • Mining Industry Experience: Previous experience working in the mining industry.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong skills in engaging with stakeholders and the ability to communicate effectively across various levels and disciplines.
