Solutions Architect About the Role
NES Qatar is working with a major aviation client to recruit a Solutions Architect who will be responsible for designing IT solution architectures that meet complex business requirements. The role involves creating solution blueprints, defining technical standards, reviewing requirements (including non-functional), and ensuring risk management across projects and programs. The Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, shaping digital strategy, and aligning business and IT objectives to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions on time and within budget.

Key Accountabilities
Designing Technical Solutions
- Develop practical, end-to-end technical solutions aligned with business strategy and objectives.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects across other business units to identify synergies, standardize tools, and align technology approaches.
- Contribute to the development of architecture governance frameworks, methodologies, and compliance processes.
- Produce solution architecture artefacts including Functional and Non-Functional requirements, technical architecture, interface specifications, and high-level design documents.
- Break down complex application requirements using domain-driven design principles.
- Identify microservices and define APIs for various domains.
- Provide strategic guidance to development teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead communication plans to educate stakeholders on the purpose and benefits of solution architecture.
- Plan and execute proof-of-concepts to demonstrate feasibility and introduce cutting-edge technologies.
- Drive innovation that creates tangible value for the business and its customers.
- Partner with internal IT teams and external vendors to design and implement robust solutions and application interfaces.
- Ensure system designs are scalable, resilient, sustainable, and cost-effective while meeting business requirements.
- Oversee testing of NFRs and ensure corrective/preventive measures are implemented.
- Validate production readiness before application release.
- Lead root cause analysis for critical incidents in production and recommend preventive actions.
- Apply technical strategies, policies, and standards across projects and programs.
- Anticipate risks and proactively implement solutions or mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Applications, Commerce, or Business Administration (or equivalent).
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years working on microservices architecture.
- Strong experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe).
- Knowledge of DevOps, DevSecOps, and Software Quality Assurance processes.
- Expertise in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Integration patterns, software design, and development.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale applications.
- Strong background in production support and problem-solving for mission-critical systems.
- Ability to create system roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Knowledge of industry technology trends and emerging tools, with the ability to apply them effectively.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead diverse stakeholder groups and foster collaboration to ensure project success.
