Job Title: US Payroll Analyst
Location: Calgary, AB
Contract Length: 6 months (mat leave coverage)

The Opportunity
The Payroll Services Team is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced US Payroll Analyst for a temporary contractor role covering a maternity leave up to 6 months. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring payroll compliance, accurate reporting, and timely processing for our weekly and biweekly US Payrolls. The role involves supporting approximately 3300 US employees, both union and non-union in multiple states, and providing support to the Canada team as needed. The US Payroll Analyst will report to the Supervisor, Payroll Services Canada and US


What you’ll do
• Process weekly and biweekly US payrolls
• Ensure compliance with internal payroll processes, company employment practices, and federal/state legislative requirements.
• Handle payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Perform monthly and biweekly reporting
• Manage general payroll inbox and resolve payroll issues.
• Respond to employee inquiries through HR Service Now cases and tasks
• Process garnishments
• Handle rejected deposits in ADP.
• Process off cycle payments as required for rejected deposits or termination final pays.
• Liaise with ADP Smart Compliance for payroll issues and compliance.
• Process quarterly and annual taxable adjustments
• Assist with quarterly tax filing and annual W-2 processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to resolve payroll issues.
• Review time entry issues
• Support SOX Reporting, documentation, and controls.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of US payroll experience, working with multiple states.
• Intermediate knowledge of US payroll legislation and methods of researching payroll legislation and employment practices.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is considered an asset.
• Experience with US quarterly tax reporting and filing
• Workday experience is preferred or other large ERP systems.
• SAP experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint).
• Experience with HR Service Now is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills and discretion in handling confidential matters.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and be flexible with changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate with team members and cross functional teams
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives.
