Cost Analyst
Location: Spring, TX
The Water Billing and Cost Analyst supports internal water operations by managing service requests, booking sales orders, and ensuring accurate financial transactions related to water supply and produced water takeaway services. This role is essential for generating timely cash disbursement requests for tariffs and transport fees, maintaining accurate records through invoice reconciliation, and ensuring proper invoice coding. The position contributes to cost accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance with internal financial controls.
Primary Responsibilities

• Create and manage service requests for supply water and produced water takeaway services, ensuring accurate and timely field ticket submissions.
• Book and maintain sales orders for water-related services in line with customer requirements and internal procedures.
• Generate and process cash disbursement requests for tariff charges and water transport fees, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation.
• Reconcile vendor invoices with internal cost tracking systems to validate accuracy, identify discrepancies, and ensure alignment with contractual terms.
• Monitor and verify invoice coding for water purchases and temporary water transfers, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and accurate cost allocation.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong attention to detail in billing, coding, and financial data tracking.
• Experience in billing, invoicing, or financial operations—preferably in the energy, utilities, or water management sectors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation, etc.).
• Familiarity with ERP or financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
• Understanding of cost tracking and reconciliation processes.
• Ability to analyze variances, resolve discrepancies, and address billing or cost issues.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
