Supporting our Client's Geographic Footprint Expansion in the Wind Market

Our Client's Challenge

Our client is the world's largest independent supplier of rotor blades to the wind industry. The client sought to expand their traditional geographic footprint further into the European marketplace. The target countries were the UK, Germany, France and Poland. The client did not have an entity in

these countries, and had not done business within them before. To complicate matters, the client needed to establish multi-disciplinary teams in each location. NES Fircroft was engaged to deliver a recruitment campaign which would secure the required talent in all locations and to support in setting up a UK office which would act as the hub of their UK and North Sea operations.

Our Solution

NES Fircroft's large network of offices across the European continent means that we have several operations in the client's target locations. We have built a wealth of expertise regarding operating compliantly in each location, as well as building skilled talent pools for the Wind market. We set up a dedicated resource team to analyse the market for appropriately skilled and experienced engineers. We also acted in a consultative capacity to research, scope-out and propose the most suitable location for our client's UK base.

To ensure that the new operations would be productive from their inception, we sourced a number of business critical personnel which included two entire engineering teams to be based in the UK (operations and maintenance disciplines), the Head of Electrical and the Head of Mechanical based in Germany, and a technical trainer to support growth in Eastern Europe.

The Outcome

Our support was so successful that the scope of work increased to further Eastern Europe locations and Italy.
