The Challenge
Compliance was of utmost concern; the client had no in-country entity or representative and so was unable to secure work permits and achieve fiscal compliance in their payroll process. The offshore location meant that the client also needed MOHA clearance from the Indian Government, which is a time consuming, admin-heavy process that could jeopardise their mobilisation timeframe.
Our Solution
NES Fircroft is well accustomed to high-pressure scenarios with tight deadlines, and through garnering over 4 decades of operation was able to draw upon this experience and offer practical expertise and support to overcome the client’s challenge.
It was established from the beginning that the client would carry out the recruitment search for the required personnel, and pass on their candidate referrals to NES Fircroft - from there we would undertake the complex administration required to ensure all successful candidates were onboarded compliantly, with the correct visa documentation and tax responsibilities.
We orchestrated a dedicated team comprising of an in-country account manager, assignment support specialists, experienced finance personnel and a lead account manager, the latter of which acted as the key pivotal point in coordinating all of the necessary processes ensuring that we:
- Obtained work permits for contractors to be mobilised to site, then supported their mobilisation through organising their travel and logistical needs, including meet and greets
- Completed all required documents to achieve MOHA clearance
- Achieved fiscal compliance and met all tax requirements for operating in India
- Implemented an automated payroll solution capable of supporting accurate payments to a large contractor base


The Results
All 10 required contractors were onboarded well within the timeframe and are still consulting through NES Fircroft, with all of their travel, payroll, and insurances handled by us.
Our in-country account manager and dedicated support team continue to manage the needs of the contractors, allowing the client to focus on the core business at hand and operational side of the project, without the complexities of contractor management.
The client was impressed with our capacity to gather all on-boarding documentation at speed and take steps to adhere to all legislation requirements compliantly, cost-effectively and ahead of time.
