Taiwan is a semi-tropical island in East Asia between Japan and The Philippines. It has everything from industrial towns and cities to rural areas with beautiful mountainous landscapes.

NES Fircroft’s expert recruitment teams place engineering and technical professionals on ground-breaking projects in hundreds of countries across the globe, including Taiwan.

When considering your professional move from one country to another, there are many things to consider, from accommodation, schooling, transport and adjusting to an entirely new culture. However, there are some great ways to make the process easier when relocating to Taiwan, including The Taiwan Employment Gold Card.

The Gold Card is a 4-in-1 card that includes a resident visa, a work permit, an alien resident certificate (ARC) and a re-entry permit. It costs anywhere between $100 USD and $310 USD, depending on your nationality and the card’s duration. You should allow 50-60 days to obtain a card, and the criteria is based on your professional skills.

We sat down with Jonathan Liao, director at the Gold Card Office in Taiwan, to learn more about how to get started with your application and the benefits of having a Gold Card.
